About

OakForge Play started as a group chat where a few of us swapped screenshots of whatever mobile game we were stuck on. At some point the notes got long enough that it made more sense to put them on a proper site. That's basically what this is — a small editorial team writing about mobile RPGs, adventures and anything with a decent progression loop.,We don't take games on trust. Someone on the team installs it, plays for at least several hours, and only then starts writing. If a game needs twenty levels before it gets interesting, we say so. If the combat is shallow but the story carries it, we say that too.,Picking what to cover is simple: we follow what people are actually downloading, plus the odd hidden release a reader points us to. Genre doesn't matter much — a clever card game gets the same attention as a big RPG. What matters is whether it's worth your time on a phone.,Everything here is written by hand. We don't generate reviews, we don't copy store descriptions, and when we change our minds about a game we update the text instead of pretending we were right all along.

Markus Lindqvist — Markus has been editing game writing for over a decade and still plays more on his phone than his PC. He handles the RPG and adventure coverage and keeps the rest of us from overusing the word 'immersive'.
