Legends of Slots
Legends of Slots is one of those games I picked up expecting a quick five minutes and ended up playing on the tram the whole way home. The core loop is built around spinning reels of symbols, but the clever bit is how it layers a light progression system on top. Line up the right pictures and you push a little story forward, unlocking new themed boards one by one.
Controls are as simple as it gets — a single tap to spin, swipes to browse between the collection screens. What surprised me was the presentation. Each board has its own art style and a short animated intro, so moving to a new one feels like reaching a new region in an adventure game rather than just a cosmetic swap. The sound design is gentle, never that aggressive jingling you'd expect, which made it easy to leave on in the background.
It's not a deep game and it doesn't pretend to be. But as a calm-down session before bed it does the job better than most. I liked that there's no pressure and no timers nagging you to come back.
What we liked
- One-tap controls anyone can pick up
- Nice themed boards with their own art
- Easy to play in short sessions
